From Assessment Through Project Closeout
Technical Assurance provided full professional services for the approximately 120,000-square-foot roof replacement at Castle North Middle School in Newburgh, Indiana. The project included assessment, design, bidding, construction administration, quality observation, performance testing, and project closeout.
The project began with a comprehensive building enclosure evaluation to document existing roof conditions and identify system performance issues. Roof core cuts, condition assessments, testing, and photographic documentation informed recommendations aligned with Warrick County School Corporation’s budgetary and operational goals.
Performance-Based Roof Replacement Design
Technical Assurance developed technical specifications, construction documents, and roof replacement details addressing the aging low-slope modified bitumen roof system. Design considerations included flashing, insulation, drainage, current code requirements, and long-term system performance.
During the bid phase, Technical Assurance coordinated the bidding process with the district, including pre-bid meetings, contractor interviews, and a recommendation for award.
Construction Administration and Quality Observation
Throughout construction, Technical Assurance provided project administration, submittal reviews, site visits, and part-time quality observation to verify that installation aligned with the design intent. Field observations included material application testing and coordination of third-party testing as needed.
Technical Assurance remained involved through project closeout, completing the final punch list and compiling closeout documentation for the district. The roof replacement was completed in 2022 with a project budget of approximately $852,900.
