Which buildings must be assessed?
- Buildings 30 years and older
- Buildings taller than 5 stories or 75 feet
- Buildings with a protected distance equal to or less than the height of the structure
Who can perform the assessments?
Only qualified professionals are authorized to conduct these inspections. According to the Cleveland Façade Ordinance, assessors must be either:
- A design professional certified in evaluating façade elements and licensed in Ohio
- A specialized assessor or firm experienced in façade elements and licensed as per Ohio Building Code requirements
