Commercial Roofing Site Manager / Roof Observer – North Carolina

The Commercial Roofing Site Manager inspects roof assets, assesses roof conditions, recommends solutions, and ensures assessment reports, proposals, and inspection reports are properly prepared and reported.

Position Description:

Qualified candidates must possess knowledge of commercial roofing systems, client relation skills, basic computer skills, and be willing to travel. Registered Roof Consultant credential is preferred or equivalent job experience. This position requires long term travel depending on the applicants’ location; estimated average of 50% travel. This position is for our North Carolina office and the ideal candidate is located in and familiar with this area or willing to relocate. Must be a United States Citizen and able to show proof of citizenship (Permissible under Title VII bona fide occupational qualification).

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect roof assets with a focus on what is needed to preserve and extend roof life-cycle
  • Assess roof condition including active leak issues, overall condition and deterioration
  • Make specific recommendations based on roof inspection/assessment
  • Ensure that assessment reports, proposals, inspection reports and information required to serve the client are properly prepared and reported in accordance with company administrative policies
  • Respond to all technical and guarantee questions accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills Required

  • 5+ years functional experience in commercial roofing, including inspections
  • Registered Roof Observer (RRO) a plus
  • Knowledge of all common commercial roofing systems (low slope and steep slope)
  • Ability to estimate roof age and remaining service life of all common commercial roofing systems
  • Technically competent with field data collection tools
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Team player with good communication skills

Must be a United States citizen and able to show proof of citizenship (permissible under Title VII bona fide occupational qualification).

Qualifications

  • Registered Roof Observer credential is preferred, but not required.

CAD Technician

The CAD Technician is responsible for the daily design document preparation of commercial, retail, municipal, and various other building envelope (roofing, façade and structural) design projects.

Position Description:

The underlying focus of the CAD Technician should be providing the most comprehensive and accurate construction documents feasible in the time allocated. The CAD Technician is expected to operate as part of a team. They are directly accountable to the CAD Manager. The CAD Technician is required to maintain strong team relationships by working closely with the Project Manager/ Consultant during the design document preparation phase of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the preparation of building envelope construction documents in keeping with the firm’s design philosophy. That philosophy is to provide the client not only what is necessary from a permitting standpoint, but also to provide the client with a set of documents that will allow the successful bidder to construct the project efficiently and with minimal changes in the scope of work.
  • Create and cleary organize of all electronic files and external correspondences (.DWG, .PDF, TIF, etc.) on the Network server
  • Integrate and understand multiple key factors to be considered during the course of design:
    • United States National CAD Standard
    • Technical Assurance drafting standard
    • Clarity and accuracy of document
    • Sound engineering practice
    • Municipal regulations and requirements
    • Client dictated design criteria
    • Sustainability Standards
  • Manage the production of complete Project Drawing Packages
  • Distribute electronic files to clients, contractors, manufacturers, sub-consultants, etc.
  • Reproduce record documents for project development
  • Learn and follow Regional Manager directives
  • Work with Corporate CAD Department
  • Other Duties: Assist with field work data collection, (some travel may be required.) light administrative duties, and ancillary project management activities

Skills Required

  • Be able to multitask and work on multiple projects/tasks at a time
  • Knowledge of general drafting practices relative to different disciplines (architectural, structural, roofing, civil site)
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
  • Team player with good communication skills

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in CAD Technologies, AutoCAD Certification is a Plus
  • Requires a minimum of 1- 5 years of experience using AutoCAD in the Architectural and engineering environment and a good background knowledge of all general drafting practices relative to the different disciplines, (i.e. Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Civil Site Development)
  • Any 3D Modeling, GIS and roofing/facade drafting, AutoCad 2025, Dynamic blocks, Bim Modeling and Revit experience will be a PLUS
